In a world where the way we live has been rapidly changing due to concerning ecological and weather conditions; it is now more important than ever to prioritize eco-friendly and sustainable ways of living, in every aspect of our lives. Starting with, taking action with the places we choose to live in.

Have you ever heard of Eco-Houses before? These types of properties represent a very important and high-demand product in the current real estate market.

Eco-Houses, are commonly known as environmentally low-impact houses, that can usually be designed to take advantage of the local resources, or built to be self-sufficient.

Building an Eco-Friendly Home is not only a place that has a lot of nature in it, or that respects their surroundings, but places with designs and installations to actively reduce their impact on the environment.

    Passive Houses

A passive house that aims to achieve thermal comfort with the minimal use of heating or cooling installations, mainly through the ideal design for insulation and airtightness; taking carefully into account the placements of walls, windows, doors, divisions and ventilation systems.

These types of eco-friendly buildings tend to have a minimal carbon footprint, due to the lacking presence of big energy consumption devices and electrical systems. It’s called “passive” because it’s a performance-based standard, rather than active based on active and running equipment.

    Bioclimatic Houses

Bioclimatic Buildings are a little like Passive Houses, when it comes to their efficient design to ensure thermal comfort, in this case, taking into account the local weather conditions, such as rain frequency, solar exposure, wind and soiling.

An added value to Bioclimatic Houses are the equipment and installations to ensure use of renewable energy, such as solar panel installations to lower energy consumption, water saving systems to recycle rainwater, and the use of other wind and geothermal energy and resource saving installments

    Tiny Houses

As their name says, Tiny Houses are known for reducing their impact on their surrounding environment by reducing its living spaces to the bare minimum. These types of eco-friendly houses are less based on optimization of resources and design from its construction, and more focused on the active change of energy and resources consumption in the day by day living.

Part of the “Tiny-House Movement”, to choose to live or own these kinds of eco-friendly buildings, are defined by their downsized living spaces that allow people to live their lives with “less”, by enjoying more of the natural spaces. Therefore, reducing the carbon footprint of each person that inhabits this type of house.

    Recycled and Sustainable Materials Houses

Properties that are built with local materials, which are usually also recycled materials, are more focused on consuming resources that are already “out there”, in order to reduce unnecessary waste in the local community or city.

Part of the negative impact that the Real Estate Market can have on ecological matters, are the amount of resources wasted and used inefficiently in big construction projects and sites. By opting for recycled material while building our eco-friendly houses, we are also able to reduce this waste of resources.
